Sales representative resume template: example & tips
In sales, the resume is itself a pitch. Sales leaders want numbers – quota attainment, revenue, new accounts, territory – and want to understand what you sold and to whom. Candidates who back up their results clearly get the interview; those who list duties blend into the pile.

Tips for your Sales representative resume
- State quota attainment as a percentage and your ranking on the team if it’s good. That is the language sales leaders speak.
- Describe what you sold and to whom: product, deal size, buyer, sales cycle. “SaaS for mid-market companies, deals from $30k” places you instantly.
- Separate new business from account management. Many roles specifically want hunters or farmers – show which you are.
- If you can’t share revenue numbers, use percentages, rankings and orders of magnitude.
- Include your driver’s license and willingness to travel for field roles – they are often required.
Salary
Pay depends on location, employer, experience and certification – a single number says little. For current figures by occupation, see the Occupational Outlook Handbook (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics).
