Tips for your Teacher resume
- Put certification, subject and grade levels at the very top – they are the first filter for districts.
- Show student results where you can: growth on assessments, pass rates, participation. Use honest numbers and name the measure.
- List endorsements and extra certifications – ESL, special education, gifted – in their own section. Many schools look specifically for them.
- For career changers: your degree, subject-related work experience and the status of your alternative certification belong in the summary.
- Include coaching, clubs and committees with one bullet each. Principals hire for the whole school, not just one classroom.
