Product manager resume template: example & tips
Product management is hard to put on paper because you rarely build anything alone. Hiring managers look for traces of impact: which problem you spotted, how you prioritized and what changed after launch. A strong resume shows decisions and outcomes – not the list of meetings you ran.

Tips for your Product manager resume
- Write bullets as problem, decision, result. “Redesigned onboarding” is a task; “raised activation from 30% to 42%” is impact.
- Give context for your products: B2B or B2C, number of users, business model. Product leaders want to see whether your experience fits their world.
- Don’t draw an artificial line between product owner and product manager – write what you actually owned: strategy, backlog, discovery, pricing.
- Show collaboration with numbers: team size, number of stakeholders, markets. It makes your scope visible.
- One or two tools are enough on the page. What you learned with them matters more.
Salary
Pay depends on location, employer, experience and certification – a single number says little. For current figures by occupation, see the Occupational Outlook Handbook (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics).
